The Queen’s Park FC Foundation has been proud to work with the Glasgow’s Golden Generation team over a number of years.
At the David Cargill Day Care Centre, we ran the Football Memories programme in which participants would find common ground over football-related activities such as group quizzes and debates. Discussions have often led to conversations about other topics such as music, movies, and nightlife. Football then becomes a foundation in which attendees can share new interests and passions over whilst having a good time in the process.
A natural progression of this has developed into our new programme – Play On.
‘Play On’ is a project crafted for individuals aged 55 and over. This initiative introduces age-appropriate physical activities with a focus on nurturing both physical and mental well-being. Participants engage in a diverse range of interactive games and activities, benefitting from key themes: physical and mental health & well-being, working memory, and intergenerational work.
